Welcome to The University of Texas at El Paso's chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). To prepare tomorrow's best engineers, SAE provides twelve different collegiate design competitions. These events place classroom training into action by challenging students to design, build, and test the performance of a vehicle in a competitive environment. UTEP's SAE chapter participates in Mini Baja; This competition is the flagship of SAE's commitment to to setting undergraduate engineers on the path to professional leadership.

The UTEP SAE chapter's mission is to enhance engineering education as well as personal development by giving the students an opportunity to learn from real world experience along with intercollegiate student design competitions.
